Leatherette

A material that imitates natural leather as much as possible. Thanks to the high-tech manufacturing process, the upholstery fabric has extra strength and high wear resistance.

Leatherette means under its name furniture fabric of two components – the base and cover.

The base can be woven, non-woven, synthetic and from pressed leather. It is very important to know that if the base is woven – leatherette can be used both for decorative and for working surface. If the base is non-woven, then the use of such upholstery material is intended only for decorative surfaces, otherwise after several stretchings waves form and the furniture loses its appearance.

The cover usually consists of several layers of artificial material, such as polyvinyl chloride (PVC) or polyurethane (PU), or combinations thereof.
