1993-1994

Birth of a Vision

In 1993, the idea was born to create a company that would transform Ukraine’s upholstery fabrics market. In 1994, Leonid Hennadiyovych Shymon brought this idea to life by founding ARTEX. From day one, the company set its key priorities: refined style, high quality, and an impeccable reputation.

In the first months after ARTEX was founded, Leonid Shymon personally visited leading European upholstery exhibitions in Milan and Frankfurt. There he established the first partnerships with premium fabric manufacturers and brought to Ukraine the first samples of collections previously unseen on the domestic market. The company’s first office was in Odesa and occupied only 40 m², yet it was already visited by forward-thinking furniture manufacturers seeking innovative materials.

Expanding Horizons

During this period, ARTEX took an important step by starting cooperation with leading European fabric manufacturers. We actively studied global trends and introduced them to the Ukrainian market, offering local furniture makers the best materials.

Innovation and Growth

With the dawn of the new millennium, ARTEX focused on innovative technologies. We began partnering with companies using advanced fabric manufacturing methods, creating diverse textures in original designs. At this time, our collections were shaped by the latest trends in global fashion.

Geographic Expansion

During these years, ARTEX significantly expanded its presence in Ukraine. In addition to the central office in Odesa, we opened branches in Kyiv and Kharkiv, providing convenience for clients and partners across regions. This was a key step toward building a nationwide network.
